At Pinewood we believe the most effective learning environment is when staff work collaboratively. Where appropriate goals are set in conjunction with the pupils and parents/carers and shared with them in symbol form. Pupils in Pinewood use a variety of assessment is for learning strategies.
Parents/Carers have a variety of opportunities to become involved in their child's learning. Formal events such as review meetings and curriculum events provide information on the learning and teaching planned and taking place in the classroom. Parents Consultation is used to initially plan and set well-being goals and evaluate/report on progress of the child. Daily communication takes place between home and school through the home/school diary and regular phone calls where appropriate.
